cord (outer ring): signifies cohesiveness and unity among the city's multi-trabal population; denotes collective effort, cooperation and the strongest bond among its people which made the City of Kidapawan what it is today.

forty (40) stars: represent the forty (40) barangays comprising the City; give perpetual guidance and light to this infant City.

Shield: From the Provincial Seal of Cotabato where the City belongs; protects and prevents without let up the City and its people from hunger and poverty and other calamities-natural or man-made; denotes City's strength and stability, as well as efficient and effective governance.

building, mountain and rising sun: represent the picture of a city and the towering heights of the potential-filled Mt. Apo which signify the unlimited progress and improvement in all aspects that Kidapawan City now enjoys and will further attain in the near future; the rising sun signifies hope and faith for its people.

Agricultural & industrial product: propel the City's economy which is being exemplified by the "Cornucopia" - the horn of plenty and the emblem of abundance.

highlands & spring: speak that the name Kidapawan is a fusion of two Manobo-Ubo words "Tida" (spring) and "Pawan" (highland) to mean spring in the highland. Eventually, due to influx of settlers from Luzon and Visayas, the "T" waas changed to "K", thus "Tidapawan" was often mispronounced as "Kidapawan".

white dove: signifies peace and tranquility in the City which are basic and essential for a happy and contented community.

"Nakapangyayari and Sambayanan": symbolize the motto of the City of Kidapawan as the city adheres to the doctrine that democracy is for the people, by the people and for the people.
